Bonaventure Senior Living Sells Four Colorado Communities to Oakmont Senior Living, Sharpens Focus on Pacific Northwest Growth

Strategic divestment positions Bonaventure Senior Living for long-term expansion and investment across high-demand Pacific Northwest markets

Bonaventure Senior Living, a Pacific Northwest premier senior living provider, today announced the sale of its four Colorado communities to Oakmont Senior Living, a California-based senior living operator with a growing national footprint. The transaction enables Bonaventure to concentrate its operational resources and capital on the Pacific Northwest, where the company is headquartered and where demographic and market conditions point to sustained, long-term demand.

The sale reduces Bonaventure's portfolio from 28 to 24 communities, all of which are located across Washington and Oregon. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"This was a strategic decision, not an operational one," said Chloe Gray, sales manager for Bonaventure Senior Living. "Our Colorado communities are well-run and well-performing, and Oakmont is an excellent steward for their residents and teams. The Pacific Northwest is where our roots are, where our relationships are, and where we see meaningful demand for high-quality senior living."

The timing reflects both market discipline and demographic reality. National senior housing occupancy reached 90 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025 — the highest level since 2017 — with net absorption outpacing supply growth by nearly 5 to 1.¹ At the same time, annual inventory growth hit a record low in 2025, with construction cycles now averaging 29 months,² meaning operators who move decisively now stand to benefit from a prolonged supply-demand imbalance.

The Pacific Northwest is particularly well-positioned. Oregon is among the states that already has more residents over age 65 than under 18,³ a demographic milestone that underscores the region's aging trajectory. Nationally, the 80-and-older population, the cohort most likely to require senior living services, is projected to grow nearly 28 percent by 2030 and more than 55 percent by 2035,⁴ with the Pacific Northwest tracking ahead of many regions due to in-migration and longer life expectancy trends. Oregon's elderly population is expected to grow at more than three times the rate of the state's overall population through 2035.⁵

"Concentrating our portfolio here positions us to grow with intention and maintain the operational quality our residents expect."

Bonaventure has operated independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities in the Pacific Northwest since 1999. It will direct capital and management capacity toward continual community improvement and new development and expansion across the region.
