Organic Green Tea Company Projects High Growth In 2020

IE Green Tea produces certified organic green tea that is certified organic by the USDA National Organics Program.
Over the past 5 years IE Green Tea have been developing a new and easy way to drink green tea that is instant, organic and antioxidant rich, giving consumers an easy way to drink pure organic green tea that is a uniquely healthy green tea containing high EGCG's (Epigallocatechin gallate).
The resulting product is IE (which stand for intelligent energy) green tea packets which are ideal for water bottles and green tea on the go.
One of the biggest challenges from consumer research was the time and inconvenience experienced by the brewing, steeping and distortion of taste that was experienced by consumers of the company's green tea bags.
The team at IE green tea went to work to design a green tea that would be instant, convenient and could be used anywhere at any time.

The tea comes pre-brewed in instant green tea packets that can be added to hot, cold or iced water to produce a high quality green tea drink that contains up to 350 mg of antioxidants, which is equivalent to the antioxidant content of 14 of the most popular green tea bags on the US market today.
The tea is 100% organic using pure natural green tea leaves, pre-brewed using only green tea leaves and natural spring water.
Consumer research also provided the company with a set of challenges to overcome, the first was that consumers desired an instant organic green tea that was easy to use.
The second challenge was that many consumers required a decaf green tea version, a process that required a proprietary decaffeinating process that would retain all the healthy benefits, but remove caffeine.
This was not a simple task as green tea in its natural form does contain caffeine, this too has been achieved so that IE green tea is now available in both caffeinated and decaffeinated green tea varieties.
The third challenge was that while many consumers wanted to try green tea, some 60% surveyed found that pure green tea was unpleasant to the taste, and they required a flavored version that was still an organic green tea.
This was also achieved firstly with a lemon green tea, using all organic ingredients including organic lemon, there was a bitter citrus taste to the first production so this is now slightly sweetened with natural organic stevia.
Seeing the success of the lemon green tea the team then moved to produce two other naturally flavored versions. The first was a peach green tea, then the very successful raspberry flavored green tea that IE green tea drinkers have made one of the companies best sellers.
Green tea has seen constant growth over the last 30 years—from 1990 to 2016, the sale of green tea in the United States went from $7.4 million to $63 million, which is 11% growth. Within the past four years, green tea sales have bloomed into a multi-billion-dollar business.
Green tea has sold over $2.58 billion within the specialty tea category in the United States from 2018 through 2020. This number is 15% of the total global consumption. While it is still trying to find its footing in the United States, the number of homes and restaurants that will be carrying it by 2025 is expected to triple.
A report published in Global Industry Analysts, October 2019, projects that green tea will continue to grow $8.1 billion, globally, by 2025, and the United States will maintain a steady 4.9% momentum throughout the same timeline.
IE Green Tea has shown that green tea can be a healthy organic drink, that can also be a tasty and refreshing drink that can be prepared in many ways, including hot cold and especially iced green tea, there are also green tea recipes on the IE green tea website.
Many restaurants and coffee shops such as Starbucks and McDonalds now offer green tea on their menu in the US, Disney has also partnered with Starbucks with the Star Wars franchise producing their own green tea drinks.
